450-462 7th Avenue loading bays
For “Loading Bays”, a site-specific program in the Garment District in 2006, this, 212, & 209 across West 35th Street were three of the five sites donated by local landowners and repurposed for artistic display on the weekend of October 20-22. In this area, artist Suko Presseau installed avian mobiles at 208, while a few doors down, the artists of TapeArt decorated 212 with color tape for their installation, “Transparency”.
Meanwhile, across the street at 209, former chashama artist Ryan Frank installed an image of a working-class street scene with the kind of plastic curtains used in many loading docks.
