My work explores the landscape of daily life.
In this technology-saturated world of high speed interactions, distractions, and overstimulating imagery, I’m held attentive to the slower, simple immediacy of my surroundings. My works explore the intimacy of those moments that pause me in the midst of familiar routines, resonating with a contemplative character.
The subject matter of my works explores diverse categories; often derived or based on traditional motifs of landscape and/or still life.
The construction of my paintings and drawings is guided by sketches, studies, and memories. The works evolve from the synthesis of these disparate visual records, investigating compelling motifs and arrangements of composition, color, and space that express the poetic experience of place.
