THOUGHT I BURIED IT began as a durational piece and study of sweat inside a human-sized snake box. Sessions for participants were set to 30 minutes interrupted by short interludes, beginning at 165 degrees increasing by 10 degrees upon each re-entry to a maximum threshold of 195. The impression of the exercise was then measured over time, post-waking-dream state impact from the endurance. Some went on to have an increased sense of embodiment or hyper-awareness. They might need to return to the box to maintain the state, while others, though impacted, picked up the previous impressions of their lives, and emerged seemingly unchanged. In this residency, a number of artists have come together in an expansion of the snake-box parameter through which any passer-by can engage with the original box, and other sculptural works, mural-making, screening room, and live performances. A more indepth elaboration on the work of these artists and the philosophy of the space will be available on majarajenovich.com. We look forward to meeting you.
