Cypha titled this body of work “the MUZE” as an ode to hip-hop music, an illuminating force of creativity, which catalyzes inspiration and evolution in his work. Through these pieces and the various forms of creative expression that support and expand on them, Cypha reconsiders history with a hip-hop soundtrack. In this manner, MUZE is meant to liberate its audience, encouraging them reexamine the great wonders of humanity, like the pyramids, and meditate on the creative spirit from which such works evolved.

The opening reception will include Cypha’s self-produced MUZE hip-hop album, food and refreshments, and I-ELEVATE, Cypha’s line of urban couture clothing all available for suggested donations. Curator, Simone A. Santos, will be interviewing participants for her own hip-hop music and culture blog (thesasappeal.com).

Artist Bio:

Cypha was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where he began his creative career drawing characters from the comic strips in the Sunday edition of The Daily News. With time, his oeuvre came to include works of graffiti and urban expression, along with surreal and abstract pieces. Eventually he discovered his niche as a muralist and fashion designer.
