Artist Statement
"Recent work invokes organically occurring forms, simple symbols and elemental ideas to stimulate wonder and mindfulness. I utilize both contemporary cultural metaphors and the raw symbolism resonant within ancient imagery, creatures, myths and philosophies to access enduring themes. My current work is complex, not complicated, and the key to its ideation resides within a willingness to entertain such a subtle, but quintessential, distinction. These Tantra Study paintings contemporize an ancient visual language found in Hindu Tantra paintings. They are vibrant contemplations on timeless meditations."
