Sticks and Stones
Jasmine Baksh
Stick and Stones is a solo presentation by NYC and New Jersey based artist Jasmine Baksh. Jasmine’s autobiographical sculptures are inspired by her own memories and experiences dealing with her past. Her selection of common objects she chooses to sculpt are drawn directly from her memory as she manipulates their function to create a new meaning.
About the Artist
Jasmine Baksh (b. 1995 in Richmond Hill, Queens) is an Indo-Caribbean conceptual artist. Jasmine’s upbringing has shaped her work into autobiographical and confessional art. Her sculptures highlight themes such as domestic violence, hidden emotions and unstable households.
