Spaces, Real & Imagined
Paintings by Allan Gorman & Linda Streicher
a Pro Arts Jersey City exhibition

Spaces, Real & Imagined exhibits the artwork of Pro Arts Jersey City members Allan Gorman and Linda Streicher. Conceived as Pro Arts’ first two-person exhibit by curator Michael Endy, both artists consider structure and space in their own unique way, yet a fascinating dialogue is created when their work is displayed together.

The opening reception for this event will be April 14, 3-5pm. Additionally, Pro Arts Jersey City will host a free & public professional development event on April 14, from 1-3pm: How to Photograph Your Artwork With the Camera You Have. This exhibition is open weekends 1-4pm and by appointment.

About the Artists
Brooklyn, NY-born Allan Gorman is a realist oil painter who brings his strengths as an internationally celebrated brand marketing consultant and graphic designer to artworks that certainly reflect his own unique and distinctive brand. Soaring towers of industry, chrome exhaust pipes, distorted reflections, a macro trip inside mechanisms and technology. His carefully thought-through compositions permeate works that have been featured in numerous gallery and museum shows and private collections in both the US and Europe.

In 2013, Gorman was awarded a Fellowship for Painting from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts – one of only six painters to win the prize, which is given only once every three years. In 2011, he was awarded a resident fellowship to Vermont Studio Center and was invited back to VSC for a second visit in the summer of 2014, and in 2016 he was selected for a fellowship residency by the ESKFF Foundation at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, NJ.
