After a successful (and large) exhibit of Smith's work in the lobby of 4 Times Square in the summer of 2013, we are showing a selection of her works again in a more intimate setting.
In her paintings, Roxa Smith captures and transforms familiar environments, lending them a dreamlike and timeless presence. Smith seeks to portray the essence of the places she paints by focusing on architectural details, lighting sources, textiles and a variety of other visual elements. The result is a painting devoid of people yet evocative of life.
