In her paintings of interiors, Roxa Smith captures and transforms familiar environments, lending them a dreamlike and timeless presence. Smith seeks to portray the essence of the places she paints by focusing on architectural details, lighting sources, textiles and a variety of other visual elements. The result is a painting devoid of people yet evocative of life.
