own, Owned engages with the concepts of "hope" and "change" within the current American landscape. Dissecting how these desires are constructed and controlled through various forms of media, entertainment, and commercialism, the piece examines the effect of divorcing hope and change from actual power. In doing so, it exposes what may be our collective lack of imagination.
