As the barrage of images continually mashes together in my mind, those which have become the most ingrained through repetition can suddenly appear before my eyes in completely unrelated objects, due to a shared underlying form. In "My Eyes Betray Me," I recreate such impromptu exchanges involving religious imagery; the subject was chosen for its prolific nature throughout history and society. The discord between the reverent and the mundane imbues the recontextulizations with surprising and poignant new meanings.
