Mikkusu - A World of Porcelain and Fabric
Mikkusu Art and Decor

Mikkusu means “to mix” in Japanese. Michelle Fix is selling a mixture of handmade porcelain vessels – in various shapes both functional and non-functional – as well as fabric stretchings using iconic Marimekko fabrics.

About the Business Owner:

Michelle Fix studied ceramics at Greenwich House Pottery, landing on porcelain slip-casting as her preferred method of creating ceramic vessels. Having bored easily of the repetition of making same, same, same, she started to misshape, destroy, cut, squeeze, and otherwise personalize the slip-cast pieces to become unique and one-of-a-kind pieces – some of which demand a certain mindfulness of the owner when using them. All high-fired in gas kilns, her porcelain is memorable and distinctive. She’s been included in a the GHP student shows and had a pop-up at West Elm in Chelsea. She sells on Faire.com as well as her own website.
