Eri Honda’s artworks are inspired by children, both real and imaginary. Since childhood she has created imaginary characters in fantasy worlds. Now her work is comprised of painted depictions of children, animals, and all kinds of funny creatures that appeal to the young and young-at-heart. All are born out of her own childhood memories and influenced as well by her developmentally disabled brother.

When she moved to NYC in 2010, she was fascinated with how people throw away so many useful things. She started to use recycled materials in her installation works. Now, she wants to let the whole world know that we can actually transform trash into beautiful creations. She would like people to start to change their concept of trash after seeing her artworks.
