For Mum, Dad: Sounds Like Home
KOE & Guests
Interdisciplinary chamber music duo KOE (Eva Ding, flute & Emma Kato, cello), in collaboration with composer Zeke Bardash and other musical guests present For Mum, Dad: Sounds Like Home.
Set against the transient backdrop of Port Authority step into a collaborative, interdisciplinary chamber music show For Mum, Dad: Sounds Like Home, where live, recorded, acoustic, and electronic sounds and projected visual art merge to transport us to a place one might recognize as home. Each week a new group of chamber music artists will present a program of pieces that remind them of their own homes, set between the whispers of bird song and nature and the pulsating rhythms of a bustling city, all crafted through electronic manipulation by Bardash.
Chamber Groups to include KOE (Eva Ding & Emma Kato) – a flute-cello duo dedicated to amplifying the voices of underrepresented AAPI & BIPOC composers; clarinetist Yu-Ting Cheng & guitarist Luis McDougal playing klezmer music; Zeke Bardash & Austin Philemon presenting an evening of electronic improvisation; violinist extraordinaire Shaleah Feinstein; and violist Kayla Williams and her band presenting a set of works reminiscent of her hometown on a Sunday.
Make sure to keep updated on the schedule so you don’t miss out on seeing your favorite artists!
