Dissolving Borders
New Latinx Art Collective

Dissolving Borders is a group exhibition featuring the works of members of the New Latinx Art Collective. Artists in the show respond to circumstances of personal, social and political boundaries with artworks that “dissolve borders” and connect. Their works explore notions of resilience, strength and empathy in the face of social turmoil in today’s America. Co-curated by Safet Bektesevic and Julia Justo, and directed by Safet Bektesevic, this exhibition is a rich tapestry of visual artwork, photography, performance and video art. The exhibition also features a variety of art workshops, a performance night, a poetry festival; and “The Exercise of Influence,” a fashion show.

About the Artists:

The New Latinx Art Collective is a group of artists that came together as selected participants of the Creative Capital’s Taller, an artist professional development program launched in NYC. As a politically inclined art collective, it aims to create a space for the community to come together, voice ideas, gain visibility, and explore the intersectionality and multiplicities within Latinx identities in the US.
