Cosmopolitan Mosaic is a live and digital performance inspired by the cultural blend of New York City. As NYC opens up and brings the arts back to life, this public performance showcases multiple types of dance and features artists from all five boroughs of NYC. Cosmopolitan Mosaic is made possible by the New York City Artists Corps.

About the Artists 

Ashley C. Mariani is a dancer, choreographer, instructor, and curator. Originally from the Island of Puerto Rico, She began dancing at the age of three and has spent over the last 20 years enjoying every moment of it. While traveling the world, Ashley has explored many aspects of the world of dance from classical to competitive training. Currently, she is President and Co-founder at Variety Pack Collective and works as an enrichment instructor in all NYC boroughs. Ashley is recently awarded the New York City Artists Corps Grant. She received Bachelor’s degree in Dance Studies at the University of South Florida with a minor in mass communications. Ashley has worked with companies such as DRIP Orlando, RAW Artists, Art of Stepping, Mark Morris Dance Group, Jennifer Muller/The Works, Vanessa Long Dance Company, and many local dance studios.

Vanessa Long is an American choreographer and educator noted for her theatrical style and activism work. She has choreographed a total of seventeen Off-Broadway shows along with several short films and music videos. In October 2014 she founded the Vanessa Long Dance Company based in NYC. She is also the founder of Long2 which has companies in NYC and Philadelphia. Vanessa has received glowing reviews about her work and received several features in magazines such as Dance Teacher Magazine, DanceInforma, Yoga Magazine, ACT Magazine, and Broadwayworld. Her work has been performed across the United States, Peru, Canada, Italy in theaters such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, City Center, Alvin Ailey, Dixon Place, and The Tank Theater.
