Boram Lee will be exhibiting her recent work, ranging from small, delicate drawings to large, thick oil paintings. Her palette is often neutral with hints of bright color and the subject of her paintings can vary from the similarity of her friends’ hair to wind blown reeds to the way a milk carton resembles her home.
About the artist:
Boram Lee was born in South Korea in 1984. She earned her A.A. in Scenography from Kaywon School of Art and Design in South Korea before moving to China for two years. After moving to the US, she received her B.F.A in Painting and Drawing at the SUNY New Paltz in 2012. After living in several countries, she began to use objects as metaphors for home. This led her to a broader investigation of symbolism and how things connect. She received her M.F.A from the Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014.
