Cat, Bugs, Person presents the most recent expressive oil paintings of Adél Kerpely and one of her multi-disciplinary installations called Standing Girl. Standing Girl is a giant doll sculpture made out of paper maché and recycled materials. She was born on Governor's Island in the summer of 2012 and she continues her journey in Manhattan's sacred places.

Standing Girl is made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council

Artist's Bio:
Adél Kerpely was born in Hungary and spent the first 21 years of her life there. She loves to paint and draw (and movies) since and early age and took classes from renowned Hungarian Painters. She graduated from Moholy - Nagy University, Budapest in 2003 where she experimented in animation and video. She earned an MFA from School of Visual Arts, New York in Computer Art in 2009. Kerpely paints on canvas with thick oil paint and she creates short films by animating her paintings. Kerpely likes to recycle used objects by turning them into installation work with paper-mache and fabric. She has experience in pubic performance and children workshops as well. Her visual art works are being shown in New York galleries and public spaces, and her animations are welcomed to festivals worldwide.
