Travel back in time to the birthplace of Hip Hop where b-boys and b-girls partied in dancehalls, DJs toasted over break beats, and camaraderie was readily embraced. The FUNKY SOUL dance party is taking Hip Hop back to its essence and celebrating the 4 elements with live DJs, break dancers, graffiti artists and of course MCs.

Proceeds from this event will fund the production of a studio CD for the Speaking in Rhythms Percussion Ensemble. There are approximately 20 students in the ensemble ages 7-18. Speaking in Rhythms provides opportunities for its members to travel the world, create original musiv compositions, develop gainful employment, and acquire recognition as professional young adults in the music industry.
