Summer Streets 2015
The NYC Department of Transportation is partnering with chashama to select 3-6 projects for SUMMER STREETS 2015.
All projects must be installed and broken-down each day. Small, locked storage containers my be possible nearby.
Artist Eligibility:
All emerging and/or established visual artists, designers, architects, musicians or performers (the “Proposers”) are eligible to apply to this open call. By submitting a proposal, all Proposers confirm their availability to collaborate with DOT during the design, fabrication and installation phases from May 2015 to August 2015. Each Proposer is permitted to submit up to two proposals to chashama via our online application.
Project Fees:
The selected Proposers shall receive a stipend to cover all expenses to design, fabricate, present the artwork or performance including, but not limited to, costs associated with the following: labor, materials, fabrication, installation, equipment rental and transportation. Performances are typically awarded $300; whereas visual installations are awarded up to $10,000. By submitting an application, all Proposers agree to enter into a contract with DOT and Lead Dog Marketing in advance of Summer Streets.
